Thanks for posting this, Roger. Roland was such a lovely man. I remember
hosting him for part of his Civil
War sojourn in the Shenandoah Valley and environs. We spent an afternoon
with some former parishioners who were Civil War buffs, and I have a
picture of him sitting in their living room in a chair once owned by Robert
E. Lee. I pray his final days will be peaceful as he awaits reunion with
his beloved Shirley.
