I had an appointment yesterday with an oral surgeon. I had never before
visited his office. The medical/dental building was probably built about
2000, if one is to gage that from the 30' Pin Oaks (Quercus palustris)
marking the buildings four corners. The rest of the landscaping was
undoubtedly
the same age, and was very impressive. There were several large weeping
Eastern White Pines (Pinus Strobus), a number of red Lace Leaf Japanese
Maples (Acer palmatum), and Alaska Cedars (Cupressus nootkatensis).
To top it off, there was a large bed of nasturtiums, already blooming.
To me, though, the twin Upright (fastigate) Copper European Beech trees
(Fagus sylvatica fastigata) made my day.

Probably a large majority of people fail to notice this display. For me,
though, it sure beat pulling teeth!
