[Magdalen] 234th Diocesan Convention

Our convention was this weekend 143rd of Western Michigan.  At our liturgy
(indoors) we had umbrellas over the gospeller and the bishop in procession
in and out and for the Gospel procession.  We never did it that way
before!  It was said that this is from an Ethiopian tradition.  We also had
asperges from a kid's pail that one might take to the beach.  Plus had
bingo cards distributed by the youth for a donation.  I finally got a bingo
after bribing the chancellor (Bill Fleener, Jr.) with a candy bar to say
"Beloved Community" in his announcement of a quorum.  Did I say we had fun?
