But it’ll grow back,
and I got to spend half an hour with a pierced tattooed eighteen-year-old.

She confided (the confidences of an eighteen-year-old!)
that she’s an artist
(and my prayer is that she paints better than she cuts).
But she’s blocked.

I told her writers get blocked, too.

“Are you competitive at all?” I asked
(LOL she radiated competitiveness).
“Go paint with other people,” I suggested.
“You’ll look at their work and think ‘I can do better than that,’
and the block will disappear.”

Hope this works.
Hope she’s moved on in three weeks.
