Northern Indiana (St. John's INdiana) is in the wider metropolitan area of Chicago, but they don't think like the Archdiocese. I have a friend who is/was the priest in charge in Crown Point. (He was Georgia's confirmation teacher in Deerfield--we've kept up since 1970. He was quick to tell me the Crown Point (county seat of Lake Cty INdiana) was very different from not so far over the state line in Indiana. Then in some ways the RC church is more conservative now than it was in the 60's and 70's. Some of that means that the tawdriness of the
liturgy in the immediate Post Vatican era is not so bad but some RC's have regained their traditional intransigence. I would like a combination of the taste of Benedict with the good sense of Francis--which I have found in many of the Episcopal Churches at which I play.
