An interesting factoid from my home town weekly (Grantsburg, WI) in climate
zone 3b - USDA:
 
The average frost depth in my home county is currently 75".  There
have been locations in the county where the frost has penetrated to 90".
 
It's going to be awhile for spring in the wilds of Northern Wisconsin!
