[Magdalen] Assorted Grandmotherly Prayers, and a little mild boasting

I went to school with a Jonathan, but he hated being called John (as people
so often automatically shorten names) so at school he went by his middle
name, Bruce. The first time I called his house and asked for Bruce I got
his father.
