And for me it was especially JFK’s assassination and that long weekend glued to the television. I was a senior in college, and I remember exactly where I was on campus.
And then in 1968 the two assassinations so close together, and Washington burning.
Today I went to the installation of a former directee, now a Unitarian minister, in Blacksburg, which is the home of Virginia Tech. One of the speaker, in her charge to the congregation about ministry in the world, talked about the horrible massacre that happened there exactly 11 years ago tomorrow. 

So much violence...
