[Magdalen] email transfer help/advice

Ooh. I used Thunderbird for 5 years or so, and I've just finished 
migrating away from it.
I found it to be too complex and poorly documented.
I now use a webmail system called "Roundcube" and I love it.
But I have access to web servers. Not sure what to do otherwise.
