"Windows Live Mail" is what Windows 10 uses instead of Outlook Express. I
upgraded some time ago, having used Outlook Express, and now I use Windows
Live Mail. I don't recall doing anything special during the transfer - but
that was some time ago. (Hint - you *really* should have moved to Windows 10
a long time ago). I would check online about migrating your email from
Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail, but I suspect that it will be
automatic and that you won't have to use any third-party email program as an
intermediary.

Subject: [Magdalen] email transfer help/advice
O-k-a-y!
I am anticipating purchasing a new computer within the next few months. I am
currently using Windows 7 and when I loaded my old computer on to the one
I've been using for 7-8 years I had to load my email into 'windows live
mail' because Outlook Express was no longer being supported.
SO...
My question is: is there a free email program I can load into my computer
now, to safely and intact-ly transfer all my email into so that when I have
to transfer all the data from my current computer to the new one, the email
will already be safely in a new program and will move effortlessly (probably
*not* quite the word I'm looking for).
