The Grand Parade in nearby Williamsport, Pennsylvania USA
begins at 6 PM EDT, and there is a break in the monsoons
for today, fortunately.  The Little League World Series with teams
from many countries starts tomorrow.  This is happening about
30 miles away, but I'll simply follow it all on television.

Also on 15th August is the Feast of (the Assumption of) St. Mary
the Virgin.  This is a "biggie" at Anglocatholic parishes, but
since there are none here, I'll just catch the festivities at the
RC Basilica in Washington, DC starting at 12 noon EDT.

Though there are several versions of the sung Proper for this
Feast, depending on which Liber Usualis is consulted, I always
thought the chant was especially beautiful for the day.  There
are also memories of choirs sweltering in  steaming rear
galleries for this Feast.

The August 15th date usually marks the change to a more
autumnal weather pattern.  To quote The Donald, "We'll see."
