[Magdalen] Little League World Series and Assumption.

I'll be subdeaconing our Solemn Mass tomorrow evening at 7 (Ascension,
Chicago). Blessing of herbs, procession, and Mass. Air-conditioned,
fortunately, although it's much warmer in the choir loft than on the nave
floor. One of the best vents where the cool air comes out is next to the
subdeacon's end of the sedilia. :) Preach more, Father...I'm cool as a
cucumber.

Then an ice-cream social in the garden. We get lots of visitors from RC and
other Episcopal parishes, and a Lutheran or two, who can't normally get
away to visit us on a Sunday. Last year we had a great many from religious
orders, chiefly from the Church of the Atonement. This year they've got
their new rector (Mother Erika Takacs), so I suspect they'll whoop it up
tomorrow night on their own.
