As I mentioned before I was laid off from my job of fifteen years back in
September. On January 7, I begin a new job as Linux Administrator and PHP
Programmer with the Bureau of Reclamation, which is part of the Department
of the Interior. I was able to negotiate a salary significantly higher than
their initial offer, as well as being given three years' service credit
with the department, meaning I get three weeks of vacation time per year
instead of just two.

But I don't mind saying that I have some trepidation about working for the
Federal government, given Trump's tendency toward temper tantrums which
might shut the government down (just when I start this time), and the
likelihood that he will appoint another coal/oil lobbyist to the head of
the department.

So TBTG for a new job, but prayers for calm nerves would be greatly
appreciated.
