You'll probably get hit by the threatened government shutdown.  If you are among thosewho continue to work without pay, you'll eventually get what's due you.
The last time I recall having this happen while I was still working at the US VA, the shutdown wassomething like 6 weeks.  The shutdown does not affect retirement funds, both viaSocial Security and Federal Retirement.  I guess there are some benefits on getting oldand retired.
