And Mr. Logsdon's comment reminds me that, while I was in the "Christian"
section of the book store, I should have looked for a copy of C. S. Lewis's
"Screwtape Letters".  I just the other day discarded my 60+ year old
paper-back copy  --  the pages were falling out and, anyway, the print was
too small.

Screwtape is a fellow one wants to keep around, for quoting purposes if
nothing else.

For those nostalgically inclined, I note that I first met Screwtape at a
silent retreat led by Molly's father; he read some of the letters during
meals.  It was a long time ago.
