[Magdalen] Managed type II diabetes & weight gain?

I think I've found the answer out there, but does type II diabetes meds (insulin, Metformin [in my particular case]) contribute to weight gain?  I believe the answer is No (the opposite rather), but med-speak on the internet can sometimes be confusing.
