John and I are celebrating 50 years of marriage on Saturday, January 27th. Our children are all coming to town to give us a bbq dinner at our church. Good friends and other family members will celebrate with us. Photos will be on FB next week. We were 20 and 21 when we married. We had 'gone steady' since I was 12 and John was 13....with one year off along the way. Each of us had two years of college under our belts. My father wouldn't give us a wedding until I had 'some kind of work to fall back on to support myself since our wedding would not last.'
