Thank you for this reference. Bishop Guerry's words about his assailant 
obviously recall Our Lord's words from the cross echoed on the wall of 
the old Coventry cathedral destroyed by German bombs in World War II. 
Nails from the destroyed part of the cathedral (there is one cathedral 
which incorporates the ruins and the 20th century build on an orthoganal 
axis) were formed soon after the bombing raid into a cross. Justin Welby 
was given a silver relica of that cross when he went from being a Canon 
of Cobentry to be Bishop of Durham and he still seems to favout it as 
his pectoral cross.
