Then go to a jazz festival and get into the scene again. Nothing stays the same, that’s for sure, and our life is not getting any longer. Don’t put things off.

Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band of Seattle, WA. The video is NOT good, but it's the music that carries it. "Canal Street Blues", ala King Oliver/Louis Armstrong. Dan Comins (of South Frisco Jazz Band fame) adding the second cornet. Rose Marie Barr on piano, wife of regular cornetist Bert Barr. The frequent highlight of this band is the featuring of two bass saxes, starting with a solo each, then a chase chorus, then a duet, then the entire band joining in for the finale with the bass sax players switching back to their other reeds. I haven't been to a jazz festival in 8 years, and boy do I miss the scene, the live music, the joy. I once had the pleasure of sitting just a couple feet away from a THREE-bass sax front line, at the Wharfside Restaurant on Monterey's Fishermen's Wharf in the mid-90s. Until you've been so close to such a thing and actually feel the air and vibration exiting those horns, ... well....
