Friends,
The Episcopal Church in SC has published a FAQ following the August 2, 2017
SC Supreme Court decision that most of the property the Lawrence church
attempted to take as its own and also the recent opinion of federal Judge
Richard Gergel that TEC and TECSC owns the property - he actually
encouraged TECSC not to wait on the US Supreme Court. This is done in
advance of an opinion of the US Supreme Court in which the Lawrence diocese
seeks a writ of certiorari to retry the property case.

Here is what TECSC writes in announcing this FAQ:
*The Episcopal Church in South Carolina has released a “Frequently Asked
Questions” supplement on its website
<https://episcopalchurchsc.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=dc801ce41dd668e19fb3a3b7a&id=b538106830&e=bfa235e9ac>,
providing information on the flourishing diocese and sharing its hopes for
a future that remains grounded in the love of God.*
*“In these FAQs, we want to show that we are a people who seek to be
faithful disciples of Jesus, and an instrument of the Spirit for sharing
the Good News he brings to all people,” said the Right Rev. Gladstone B.
Adams III, Bishop of The Episcopal Church in South Carolina (TECSC). “The
responses don’t say everything that can be said, but hopefully they can
start a helpful conversation.”*
*The supplement provides background and factual information to assist
parishioners of churches who face decisions as a result of recent court
rulings involving the diocese.*
*“As a community of faith, our constant desire is to pray as Jesus did:
that we be one, even as he and the Father are one,” Bishop Adams said.
“Reconciliation in Christ is our goal, for we know that ‘with God, all
things are possible.’”*
