The Diocese of Virginia provides an extensive check-list and report of the
various things a professional auditor would do in a regular audit.
Completing them all requires considerable effort but is a darn sight
cheaper. I believe that parishes must still get a professional audit every
few years.
Audits are expensive and a burden on small non-profits.
