I have a lovely icon of Sts. Joachim and Anna with the Theotokos as a small
child, sitting on her mother's lap and reaching up to pat her mother's
cheek. I like it because it is so human.
My personal patron is St, Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist. My middle
name is Elizabeth and it was my mother's name. I have an icon of the
Visitation that is very sweet that shows thee moment where Mary arrives,
looking anxious and scared, reaching to embrace Elizabeth, who looks very
comforting and motherly.
