>From photos I have seen, the Cathedral hasn’t beeng gutted. Apart from debris, indirect fire damage, and, I’m sure, water damage, the interior is amazingly intact. The massive wooden roof frame appears to have been the main fire.

Sometimes it works, though.
When St. Paul's Brookline was gutted (only the walls and steeple remained)
they made it into something both pretty & exciting,.
The pulpit has a carved bas relief of St. Paul on the ground next to a very
startled-looking horse.
