[Magdalen] Pancake/Waffle Time.

Scott, I find that to be the case also. Especially so, if someone has come into the church at a specific parish (often because certain ways of doing things "touched" them or appealed to them) and 'their' church somehow morphs into the correct/only way to "do" whatever.

I think this happens a lot these past 30 years - even though people may be leaving TEC, people age finding their way to TEC also.

Always interesting when (some) folks come from other traditions and expect
their new place to have similar traditions. We had a couple (who became
dear friends) from St Paul's, K Street, in DC, join us at All Saints', East
Lansing, Mich. and for a while seemed horrified we didn't do things the way
they were done on K Street. Well, it isn't K Street...that's the simple
answer. I remember a couple of other such visitors from other traditions.
"I am livid that the hymnal here is not 100% unfailingly inclusive
language." Well, true, and sorry about that. The UCC's new-ish hymnal is,
but ours is a bit older and hasn't achieved that yet. Places are different,
and many of them are in some state of transition or development.
