[Magdalen] Academic Scandal.

I am a trifle puzzled by the response to this obviously distasteful affair.  WhatI don't understand is the apparent classifying this behavior as a criminal and legalaffair complete with arrest of parents who have participated in improperly gainingaccess to the series of well known private colleges/universities.
It strikes me as something that could be handled internally by the various schoolsrather than relegated to the (national) legal system with the threat of incarceration.
I am all for tightening up admission to these and all colleges and that it should beperfectly clear that tampering with admission procedures is not acceptable.I am not so sure that these matters should be labeled criminal offenses.
My sympathies go out to prospective students who were passed overbecause admission was improperly bought by wealthy parents.
Please list-members,  enlighten me and show me where I am wrong.
