As the world follows the events in Venezuela, I keep routinely hearing news-peoplepronounce the country name with a sibilant "s" instead of a "z" sound.  My dictionaryuses the "z" sound. 

But then, the news-people insist it's Hell-SINK-i  instead of the correct HELL-sink-i.I'll admit that Finnish is not a strongly stressed language, but what stress there isis on the first syllable.  I guess there is a desire to avoid hell.
