I looked through the long list of bibles at https://www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Luke%2022:19
and there’s not one of them that uses the “for the” wording.
On a different tack, my problem is that coming from a varied Protestant background, this phrase was always prominently displayed, even being painted on the altar, to emphasize that Christ was, at most, only present in spirit.
So I agree with Matthew vs Luke and Paul, leave the whole phrase out. And when it comes to going back to a Bible, is there actually a Bible that uses “for the”.
