[Magdalen] Susan Hagen update

After nearly three weeks at UVa Medical Center, Susan will finally move to a rehab facility sometime today. I brought all of her stuff from home yesterday, so she has everything she needs for the move.
Her spirits have been good throughout, and the delay has mostly been dealing with insurance issues and trying to find a suitable bed. She still needs some skilled nursing care, and not all the rehab facilities have that.
Yesterday the orthopedic surgeon told her it will be at least two months before they can do the knee repair, which was disappointing. She has to be fully weight-bearing, and so far she isn’t allowed any at all. She still has a cast from her ankle to the top of her thigh, though the doctor thought he might be able to put on a shorter cast before she leaves the hospital. I’m not sure that will happen today, since she doesn’t know exactly when she’ll be moving.

She has her laptop now, so you can send messages to her, and she’s posting to FaceBook regularly, for those of you who are on there.  When I get the address, I’ll post it here so you can send her a card, if you want. I’m sure she’d appreciate it.
