[Magdalen] Where are we

[ME Michaud]

And now I find myself thinking of all the friends from church lost to us,
a dozen or more who drank themselves to death long before age 70.

Some of those deaths were quiet,
but more than a few were both spectacular and gruesome.

They met at church, speaking the secret language of alcoholics,
luring each other,
abetting.
One was a doctor and one was a priest and ALL were slain by a fierce wild
beast,
I miss them all.
