[Magdalen] Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi will forever remind me of the day I visited the local
Catholic Church in Harrisonburg, which is called Blessed Sacrament Catholic
Community. It's a rather large church and the inside has been redone in a
cross-shaped plan that gives it an open feel. The congregation is
multiracial (it's the only RCC in the "burg, so that would of course
follow) and the principal priest, at least at the time I visited, Is from
Kenya. In any event, towards the close of the service, he had the
congregation participate in a procession of the sacrament around the block.
As the church happens to be on the edge of the downtown, there were people
walking by and some stopped to stare. I found that quite moving, actually.
I also found the church very welcoming, and if I were at all inclined to
the Roman persuasion (I am obviously not!) I would have no trouble plunking
myself in a pew there.
