It's been wonderful.

We drove the Kancamagus today.
http://www.KancamagusHighway.com
which made me a little misty.

The last time I was there, probably sixty years ago, I was with my mother.
We clambered out on the boulders in the Swift River, sat down on a flat
rock the size of a box truck, and ate lunch. I set my apple core down next
to my hip, planning to carry it to the trash, but, when I got up to go, it
had disappeared.
Walking away, I looked back to see a chipmunk in the shadows, gnawing on
the apple core.
I swear he was smiling.

There are still leaves to peep at here, but on the Lincoln side the trees
are bare.
It snowed on Mount Washington this morning.
