In NW Austin we had 24 hours without power and temperatures below 10 deg. F, power restored about 1130 this (Tuesday) AM. Not so cold now but we may have another chilly (but perhaps not wet) night ahead. (I am north and east of Fr Counselman). My daughter is staying at my house the better to take care of me while staying off the streets which have ice under 5” of snow—lots of fenderbenders (and worse).
We have ample food (some thawed in freezer while power was out), but not much heat and oxygen supply is dwindling (I need extra O2 24/7, hope for delivery tomorrow). I have battery supplied O2 concentrator but can’t recharge battery when power is out (as it likely will be again). It has been >20 years since last cold spell with temps this low for this long.
Lots of other people are far worse off than we are.
