[Magdalen] Google attack on Magdalen

Friends, please forgive my ignorance, but would someone please tell me (1) what exactly Google did to Magdalen that many consider to have been an “attack”, and (2) how does Google profit by attacking Magdalen?   

I do not, and likely never will, understand people who apparently believe that any disagreement with them, however slight, is Satanic in origin, mortally dangerous to them, and requires annihilation of anyone who expresses disagreement for the safety of all right-thinking people (i.e. people who agree with them).
