[Magdalen] Magdalen archaeology and lore--FYI

I have some memory of the Compass Rose Pub aka Magdalen in formation.  I
could be wrong, having been simply carried this way and that on the
currents of change. So long as everyone was still out there I don't think I
thought much about the hows and whys of it.  Which is absolutely not meant
to be ungrateful!  I have met wonderful people, some electronically and
some face to face, and I wouldn't trade that for the world.  My life has
been much richer for this group by whatever name since the earlier 90's.
