Our choirmaster conducts from an iPad (behind us, upstairs) and some of the
choir members sing from an iPad as well. Our interim rector preaches from
an iPad. Most churchgoers, though, hold a bulletin and pick up a hymnal
(the hymns are the only part of the liturgy not printed in the bulletin).
It's possible to download the bulletin just before Mass, but I haven't seen
anyone in the pews using a device this way. Not that no one does; I just
haven't seen it, and I tend to try to keep custody of my eyes during Mass,
especially at the Gospel when we're all facing the deacon at mid-nave and
it's tempting to gawk around at everybody.
