I second what Grace has said - there just aren't a lot of clergy out there looking. A bit over a year ago I was on a search committee for a new rector (actually, priest-in-charge) and the Diocese could only come up with two candidates in a national search. And this was for a full-time position in Vermont's capitol - you'd think a desirable situation. Fortunately, the guy we called is really excellent. All of which is to say, basically, things are tough all over.

My dear wife has done interim work, bur she is now very retired, and we like it very much here in Vermont.

Anyway, best of luck, and congrats on your new grandchild!

Greetings, pub-mates! I’m still adapting to my new role in the diocese, which includes transitions, and we have several of those coming up! The immediate need right now is for an interim dean for the cathedral in Davenport  (we have 2 cathedrals - this is the historic one) and there seem to be ZERO interims available these days! And so I thought of you all - and your broad connections across the church around the world! Know anyone that might be interested? We’d even help someone get trained as an interim if they don’t have that training! The dean retires at the end of December so time is of the essence! 

On a personal note - I hope you all are well. We were blessed on Thursday early morning by the arrival of our first grandchild, born to our oldest son. Her name is Eleanor Marie Wagner, named after my mom’s aunt, who we all adored.
