I pretty much lurk now, but all the talk of the bios makes me think it's
time for a brief update.  After 4 years in the UK I was asked to consider a
job back in Australia.  So since the beginning of August, I have been the
Warden (=Principal/Dean) of Wollaston Theological College in Perth, Western
Australia.  I'd never been to Peth, let alone been full time in the
academic world, so it's all new.  It's also a huge time of transition for
the College (from doing one day a week formation only while the
students did their academic work through a university - which then closed
their theology department) to becominging a constituent college of the
University of Divinity and teaching undergraduate and graduate degrees and
certificates/diplomas.

This is not something I'd ever expected to be doing!  I'm enjoying it,
though it's a steep learning curve.  My deputy, who is also new, is great,
as are the staff and faculty, though there has been a lot of turnover (for
good reasons). Lots of transitions, lots of work.  But good.  And i get to
live on the edge of bushland, about a mile from the beach.
