This morning a parishioner came to me to ask for prayers for the local chapter of Young Lives. This is an offshoot of the Young Life program that is for pregnant teens and teen-age mothers. At their meeting this week there was a medical emergency with one of the babies, and although emergency services arrived, the baby died there. I can’t even imagine the trauma to the other girls, as well as the mother…
I was glad to learn about this program, though, because they aren’t just preaching pro-life platitudes, but are providing support to pregnant girls and young mothers!
