Many moons ago, before this list began, I used to collate monthly 
statistics on a predecessor list. The original aim of those posts was to 
try and keep the number of posts down and to name and shame the most 
frequent posters.

But looking today at the number of posts here over the last 8 years it 
is clear that there has been a precipitous decline in posting. Even as 
recently as 2021 there was an average of more than a post a day. In 2024 
the average was only slightly more than a post a week. Seven years 
earlier there were over 100 posts a week.

2017: 5443 messages across 1350 threads

2018: 3954 messages across 872 threads

2019: 1853 messages across 375 threads

2020: 1518 messages across 219 threads

2021: 500 messages across 87 threads

2023: 336 messages across 52 threads

2023: 132 messages across 25 threads

2024: 67 messages across 16 threads
