I, too, would love to hear from Magdalen folks - I’ve missed you all.
John and I still live in Summerville, SC, but we have downsized into a much
smaller house a few doors from my youngest sister. I retired in 2016; John
continues inreal estate but is no longer broker-in-charge of his office.
Life is good.
Our children are all North Carolinians. Three of our four grands have
finished college and live/work in Atlanta, NY City, and Charlotte. Our
youngest is a 6th grader in Charlotte. Our daughter Ginny is rector of St.
Anne’s Episcopal Church, Winston-Salem.
You may remember that The Episcopal Diocese of SC experienced schism
because of attempted takeover by the Anglican Church in North America. Our
Episcopal diocese lost many members and churches to to the splitting , AND
The Episcopal Diocese is recovering very well under the excellent
leadership of Bp. Ruth Woodliff Stanley. The remnant congregation of our
parish united in 2012 as the schism occurred to form The Episcopal Church
of the Good Shepherd in Summerville. (We are on Facebook, if you’d like to
Chen us out.) Good Shepherd is blessed with fine leadership, especially our
rector Fr. Dow Sanderson. We continue to grow steadily in numbers of all
ages and have been given property on which to erect our own church
building, etc!! For our parish and for our Diocese, this is a resurrection
story. Alleluia!
