Indeed, I was looking at a newsclip earlier this afternoon of a 
particular part of the CA coast where houses have been swept into the 
sea.  One (former) home owner said that when he bought the property he 
had to sign a paper about erosion and thought it wouldn't really affect 
him.  Excuse me, the place is called Washaway Beach - shouldn't that 
have told him something?

Somebody else observed that the ocean was merely reclaiming its own as 
everything there is sand.  I seem to recall a story from somewhere about 
building a house on sand.
