[Magdalen] cat question

Our 8 year old back cat, Ebbie, died of a stroke earlier this week.

Dawn has our present black cat, Sophie, when we met.  She also had a cat
who died the first week we met.  Sophie, since then, began meowing like the
dead cat.  Now since the death of Ebbie, my Scarfie (raised from feral
calico), who has always avoided people has become as friendly and loving as
Ebbie was.

Has anyone else ever had that sort of thing happen with their felines?
