[Magdalen] Christmas pudding

My contribution to this year's Christmas dinner is a steamed carrot
pudding, a somewhat lighter version of a plum pudding.  It's in it's
tin simmering away on the stove.   It will be served with a sprig of
holly on top and a choice of sauces - hard sauce, whipped cream, and I
may make a lemon curd.

I'm going up to Maryland to spend the holiday with my friends there.
