I have always loved the Faure requiem -- even as I associate it with the loss of 
so many friends and acquaintances to AIDS. It seemed to be the music of choice 
for church funerals for most all these guys.

There's a lot of other Faure that is simply stunning, if obscure.

In its own strange way, I find the slightly-off performance of the Faure by Miss 
Orme-Herrick in Brideshead Revisited enchanting -- especially when I hear it 
done right, rather than the BR Florence Foster Jenkins version.
