I am getting ready for our 10AM Liturgy at St. John's Melkite. We have
services at 10PM Christmas Eve and 10Am Christmas Day.
I am used to St Basil's on Christmas Eve and St John Chrysostom on
Christmas Day (depending on the day of the week, of course).
Our priest makes many pastoral adaptations He keeps St Basil's primarily
for Great Lent and Holy Week. I'm not too sure what happens for Theophany
because it is always on the Sunday. I am under the impression that St
Basils is not served much outside of Lent.
Part of it is his arthritis Last year he barely got through the Liturgy on
Holy Saturday morning. He since he has had surgery and therapy
