[Magdalen] HELP - iTunes window from heck here!

I downloaded the iTunes program yesterday to peruse music for a Christmas 
gift project I'm putting together for my kids. I've never used it before and 
I couldn't figure out how to 'buy' yesterday either, so I just looked for 
some of the songs (some very old) that I was seeking and at some point it 
closed down, so I just figured I'd look later. Fast forward to today. I 
plugged in my iPhone to download some pictures and the first thing that 
happened was a window opening on my computer announcing that I needed to 
update some apple software (I do not have an apple computer). Software 
downloaded and a window opened asking me if I wanted to download photos to 
Apple... I indicated 'no'. I went to my usual photo holding tank and 
successfully downloaded. When I closed that out, an almost full sized window 
remained that just says 'iTunes Store' in the middle of it. I can not close 
it, drag it,  or click the icon that it set yesterday in the 'bar' at the 
bottom of my screen - what is going on? Any thoughts???
