[Magdalen] Tom Magliozzi, RIP

I remember hearing A in GM back when I was in the Army in Germany, and he
was carried on AFN.  He always had some interesting over-arching idea to
look at in music. I continued to enjoy him for years, and when Dr. Haas
died, I made an arrangement of the theme for recorder ensemble as a tribute
to him.

Although Haas' show was consistently interesting within its limits, I ended
up somewhat preferring the style of Peter Schickele, whose show, "Schickele
Mix," was doing a version A in GM with added humor, and not confining
himself to 19-century music. Peter could get an idea, show how it was
present over several centuries, and then show how it was fully present in
rock n roll.  Loved that show. Very sorry he stopped. Alas, none of us are
getting any younger. <sigh>
