I live with a collector, and although Keith's attachment to Things is more
cerebral than emotional ("Every time I've thrown something out I have found
I needed it later"), I can personally vouch for complete lack of success in
persuading him to divest.

Not that he would never do it - he has, but it takes huge amounts of time
that he rarely has available.

So the despatch from this particular domestic battle front is that it's
simply not worth fighting about, defeat is very likely and victory if ever
achieved is Pyrrhic.
