[Magdalen] cemetery plots...

I just remembered that I still own my parents' two plots in which neither of them were buried--they ended up having their ashes scattered. After my father died, I called the cemetery to see if they could be given to somebody who needed, especially since the cemetery was full. 
Problem was--and is-- that my father had gone ahead and gotten a double headstone with all information engraved. They told me that has to be removed first. I never followed up, though I suspect the monument company could take the information off and polish the face to reuse it. It's a beautiful sandstone marker.
This thread reminded me that I still need to see what I can do about that.
I just don't want to have to pay them to take it away...
