[Magdalen] Designated Hitter

Please give a cogent and reasoned argument in favor. I dislike it because
as far as I can see all it does is give old, out of shape sluggers a few
more years in the game, and it takes a lot of strategy *out* as the manager
no longer has to decide whether to lift a pitcher in favor of a pinch
hitter at a crucial point.
